Frequently asked questions.

What happens when I come to 10 am worship?

Ushers will greet you at the door and offer you a bulletin to help you follow the worship service. If you attend online, a copy of the bulletin can be found on the website. A pastor or lay leader will greet everyone, share some announcements about what we’re doing and then worship will begin. You can expect to hear music – both instrumental and sung, prayers, scripture readings, a time with children, some preaching. Join in what’s comfortable for you!

What should I wear?

Most people dress like they might go to work, and since we do different jobs, you will notice a range of attire. You should come as you are comfortable!

What do I do with my child?

Your child is welcome in worship and may stay for the service.  There is a time with children during worship, which usually involves children from age 2 to 10 or older, after which most children go to Church School.  There are two rocking chairs in the sanctuary for those needing to comfort a child.

We have a nursery, where the service is live-streamed.  Currently, our COVID policy requires all children 2 and older to be masked at all times and a parent to stay with a child in the nursery (Kinderwyk).

Is your facility accessible?

Yes! Although the front entrance on Union Street has large stone steps, if you enter on Church Street under the arched sign, the doors can be opened by pushing the accessibility button, and you can take the ramp to the sanctuary, or to Covenant Hall. Our office building and Mohawk House are also ramped. We have an elevator to access our downstairs Sunday School and our upstairs music department. We have accessible restrooms as well.

How do I get there? Where do I park?

We are located at the corner of Union and Church Streets. We have two parking lots across the street from the church, one on Union and one on Church. There are a few designated accessible parking spots in a small lot next in the main church building on Church Street. There is also on-street parking which is safe.

What happens after the service is over?

Some people gather for fellowship time in the courtyard when weather permits or in Covenant Hall near the sanctuary. During COVID, we are not sharing food or beverages, but we look forward to post-pandemic times when we can eat together again. If you attend worship online, we have a Zoom Fellowship. At about 11:30, we have an Adult Forum you are welcome to attend either in-person or online.

What denomination are you a part of?

The church is a member of the Reformed Church in America (click here). We welcome all to join us regardless of denominational background.
